Full Time & Part Time Lifeguards - Bay Venues Ltd
If you are looking for a role that offers a fun and vibrant working environment, that breaks the mould of the typical ‘9 to 5' grind, then lifeguarding is the career for you!
You will be given the opportunity to complete a range of transferable qualifications, such as your advanced first aid, emergency management, water quality, chemical handling in addition to obtaining a pool lifeguard practising certificate. And you'll get to work with a great bunch of people who want to make a difference in the community.
There are currently opportunities within our aquatics team for full time and part time lifeguards across the Mount Hot Pools, Baywave, Greerton Aquatic Centre and Otumoetai Pool.
As a lifeguard, you will need to be able to swim 200m in 6 minutes or less and be able to stay on your feet for extended periods of time. This role will keep you fit!
Our aquatic facilities are open from early to late, seven days a week, 364 days a year so we are looking for committed team players who are flexible around their working days and hours. Duties will include interacting with customers, supervising swimmer's poolside, as well as keeping our facilities clean. Our biggest focus is the safety of our customers in the water so the ability to keep a level head and be calm under pressure is a must.
Previous experience in lifeguarding is not necessary as full training can be provided. Our next PLPC will be held in August and will be a two day training course on the 3rd and the 6th. You would need to be available to attend both days of training. You need to be over 16 years of age to complete this training.
In return for your commitment, we offer excellent staff benefits including a free gym membership, unlimited use of our aquatic facilities for you and your immediate family, as well as discounts on our programmes, services, and merchandise! We have a great team culture and enjoy regular staff functions with the wider Bay Venues family. The wage for this role starts at the living wage which is $22.10, and then increases depending on your level of experience and aptitude. If you've got what it takes, you can rise to the position of Team Leader: Lifeguard and continue to progress a career in the aquatic and recreation industry.
