Cafe Manager - Trustpower Arena

Bay Venues is the kaitiaki of community facilities in Tauranga. This includes five aquatic facilities, the iconic Baypark & Trustpower Arena facility, the Adams Centre for High-Performance Sport, four indoor sporting facilities, three community centres and eight community halls. We are seeking an experienced Café Manager to lead our café team at Trustpower Arena providing exceptional service and food offerings to the many different types of customers we have using our facilities. This is a full-time position working 40 hours a week between Monday and Sunday, as rostered. This role could from time to time see you cover shifts at our Baywave Café if needed.

The role can be fast paced, and you will need to understand the upcoming bookings and general operations of the business in order to project staffing and food requirements in this unique environment. In our one-of-a-kind café, no two days are the same as we host a number of exciting events that range in size. This can be anything from shows and expo's, to concerts, conferences and school balls. This is a fantastic chance to experience and be a part of not only café offerings but event catering as well. You will need to be flexible around working some evening shifts depending on the times these events are booked for.

You will use your excellent leadership skills in order to motivate your team to provide exceptional customer service, and your knowledge of food presentation and quality to implement new ideas and grow the business within the Café. You must have proven staff supervisory and rostering skills, be well organised and a fantastic team player. A Duty Manager certification would be advantageous but not essential.
